Ann Quante Beal

“A Georgia Peach and Part Mermaid”

Ann, 77, of Lamar, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, after a courageous 4th fight with cancer and complications from double pneumonia.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, to Laree and Martin Quante, Ann always considered herself a proud Georgia Peach. After high school, she moved to Dallas, Texas, and settled in Garland, where she raised her family. Later, she and her devoted husband retired to the beautiful home they built together in Lamar, Arkansas.

Ann was witty, strong-willed, generous, and full of life. She had a heart for hospitality, a gift for making others smile, and a talent for turning a house into a warm, welcoming home. Her kitchen was filled with delicious meals, and her craft room was a place of creativity and love. An avid quilter and thoughtful gift-giver, many who knew her have one of her handmade treasures to remember her by.

She adored her family and cherished every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ralph E. Beal; her sister, Esther Rightmyer; her children Gary Cornelius (and wife Karen), Carie Cornelius Whitlock (and husband Joe), and her bonus daughters Christy Beal Clark (and husband David) and Angie Beal Nichols (and husband Paul); as well as her caring son-in-law Dave Turner. She was a proud and loving Grammie to Justin Scales(and wife Ashley), Cody Looka (and wife Shannon), James Turner (and wife Anna), Ashley Cornelius, Dalton Trott, Danielle Clark, Chelsea Clark, Ashlee Clark, Tiffany Clark, Audrey Anna Clark, Lauren Ramalho, Ryan Ramalho, and Kobe Turner. She also leaves her legacy of many great-grandchildren whom she absolutely adored—with one more on the way any day now.

She was preceded in passing by her youngest daughter, Dawn “Peanut” Cornelius Turner, in September 2024.

True to her independent spirit, Ann requested no funeral or memorial service. Those who wish to honor her memory are invited to make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, her favorite charity. Or simply think of her when watching a beautiful sunset over the ocean—especially from a sandy beach she would’ve loved, like Tybee Island.
