Mother Bertha Freeman was called home to rest on Wednesday evening, July 14th 2021, at her home with family at 7:45pm. She was born on June 18th 1940, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to the late Nathan and Joyce Malveaux. She was one of nine children in this union. She accepted Christ when she was young and served the local church diligently for decades as a teacher and encourager. She married the late Junius Freeman of Eunice, LA, who loved her dearly.
Mother Bertha had two sons that she loved very much. She was a praying woman who was an avid reader of the biblical scriptures and enjoyed writing. She also loved to laugh and encourage others. She spent the last 17 years of her life in the state of Arkansas, enjoying time outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. During her last days she was surrounded by her family and loved ones. One of the last statements that she made was that “God is Love.”
In addition to her late parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Leas and Calvin Malveaux, and one sister Hilda Jones.
