With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Carlos William "Bill" Vernon, who left this world on Monday, April 14, 2025, in the comfort of his Russellville home, surrounded by those who loved him most.
Bill was born on July 19, 1954, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to William Carlos Vernon and Violet Nell Ledbetter Vernon, who welcomed him into heaven.
A man of extraordinary kindness and devotion, Bill's greatest joy in life was his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Delyn with whom he built a life and a family together. His sons Tyler and his wife Jena Vernon of Portland, Texas, the parents to his lone grandson Charlie William Vernon; and Chance Vernon and fiancée, Danielle Lopez of Victoria, Texas were all the beming pride of his life—and relationships he cherished deeply.
He is also survived by his sisters, Anita Lewis (Gary) of Russellville and Patricia "Laney" Sweeden (Preston) of Morrilton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his genuine care and compassion.
Though Bill didn't seek attention, those who knew him understood that his greatest passion was simply being there for his friends and family—a quiet strength that will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
There are no local services planned. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Russellville Family Funeral. Please visit our website, www.russellvillefamilyfuneral.com to share a memory with Bill's family.
