Charles Edward "Ed" Bates, 82 of Russellville, previously of Atkins, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at his home. He was born December 31, 1941 in Lebanon, Tennessee to Ernest S. and Ota Mae Worley Bates. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Bates; parents, stepfather, Ralph Scott.

He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Moore and Michael of Russellville, stepdaughters, Samantha Ingraham of Sacremento, California, Shannon West of Roseville, California, Donna Miller and James of Hector as well as children, Deanne Bates and James Bates of California; grandchildren, Madelyn Moore, Isaac Moore, Joshua Moore, Mia Moore, Al Miller, Jessie Miller, Bailey Ingraham, Keeli Webb, Brandon West, Corbin West; several great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Bates and Wanda of South Carolina, Steve Bates of Florida, as well as several other family and friends.

His graveside funeral service and burial will be 10am, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery in Atkins, with Bro. Jeff Lewis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral. There is no visitation planned.
