Gilbert "Dick" Washington Duvall

Gilbert “Dick” Washington Duvall, Jr. (age 74) was a hard-working, loving, and gentle man who spent his life in Russellville, AR on his farm on Highway 326. He had a hard battle to fight the past two years with medical issues and he did so with a smile on his face surrounded by loved ones until the end of his life’s journey on Friday, September 23, 2022. You would almost always find Dick sitting on his front porch in his rocking chair or out in the pasture on his tractor. His wife, Diane was always right beside him through every moment from poultry farming, working cattle, and raising an amazing family.   

The smell of his morning coffee accompanied by hours of story-telling (whether always true or not) with the sounds of a Western TV show playing in the background will always be fond memories we share. Hunting trips with him were rarely focused on the deer but rather on the company of his friends and family. His ornery-side provided moments of laughter and frustration which will be shared for the lifetimes of all who loved him. Dick loved his garage which was filled with the right tool for every job, that only he could find.  The love of his garage was not because of what filled it, but rather, the people who filled it. His spirit is engrained in his family and land.  

Dick was preceded in passing by his parents, Gilbert (Gibb) Duvall, Sr. and Sally Mae (Byrum) Duvall and sister, Joann (Duvall) Rappe. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane (Roach) Duvall, sister Judy (Duvall) Hegmann (husband Bill), his sons Scott Duvall (wife Staci), Brent Duvall (wife India), daughter Farrah (Duvall) Beldin (husband Shannon), grandchildren Trista and Luke Beldin, Tyler and Austin Duvall, Landon Bills, Alisha (Diana), Taegen, and Steelee Duvall and a great grandchild Emerson Duvall.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at Russellville Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 10:00 am. Visitation will take place on Tuesday evening, September 27, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Russellville Family Funneral.

Pallbearers are Scott, Tyler, and Brent Duvall, Shannon Beldin, Jeff Rappe, and Matt McCurrie. Honorary pallbearers are Junior Taylor, Junior Simmons, Gene McCurrie, and Larry Wiley.
