Hairl Dean Williams, 84 of Dover, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at his home in Dover, Arkansas. He was born April 22, 1938 in Deer, Arkansas to John Miles Williams and Edith Milsaps Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Charlotte Diane Wilson, one great grand son Kendell Ray Waterman, six sisters and three brothers.
Hairl was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Russellville, Arkansas.
Dean was known to be a talented, hard-working, light-hearted and loving soul. He loved the simple things in life and spending time with his precious family and friends. Dean was a great gardener and master carpenter. There was nothing he couldn’t accomplish. He married Joyce in 1957, and soon after they moved to California. Ten years and three children later, they moved back to Dover, AR where they have resided ever since. Joyce bought Dean his first guitar (a 1929 Martin) when Dean was about 20 years old, from at local pawn shop. After that, Dean’s legacy began…
In the years that followed, Dean, Joyce, their children and grandchildren went down a musical journey of releasing 5 bluegrass/gospel albums and also included performing at numerous benefits, churches, bluegrass festivals, folk festivals, music events, and their very own monthly music jamboree. If there was any opportunity for a jam session, grandpa would be pickin’ and grinnin’!
Anyone that knew Dean would appreciate his sense of humor and his gentle and loving character. His family loved him for all of those reasons and so many more.
Dean loved his family unconditionally and offered his wisdom and many life lessons to help others grow. Dean was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend to many people and he made an impact in each person’s life. We will miss Dean and cherish the beautiful memories we have of our time together, forever.
Survivors include his wife Joyce A. Williams five children, Gaylon Dean Williams (Virgie), Kenneth Warren (Tamara), Nicole Baker (Zakary), Travis Dean Williams (Amber), Waylon Brent Williams; five grandchildren, Vanessa Revis, Krystal Beasley, Ryan Williams, Warren WIlliams, Ashlyn Salyers; seventeen great grandchildren, Kayden Revis, Kylan Revis, Nate Johnson, Stevie Perry, James Perry, Amia Baker, Zoey Baker, Zaxstan Baker, Flex Baker, Finn Baker, Traylon Williams, Emmett Williams, Emilia Williams, Nova Williams, Kynliegh Bowden and Bentley Williams; two sisters, Wanda Mae Riggs (Bill), Sue Riggs (Roy); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
