Hans "Aki" Joachim Shelton, 64 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 at St. Vincent in Little Rock. He was born April 3, 1960 in Landstuhl, Germany to George and Christel Shelton.
Hans was known for his strong will, unwavering determination, love and support for his family and community, and loving grandfather "Dubby" to his grandchildren. Along with his wife, he was a devout member of Trinity Faith Tabernacle of Greenbrier, Arkansas and later attended Gateway Pentecostal Church of God in Russellville, Arkansas.
Hans dedicated his working life to country and community through service in the United States Navy, Air Force, and Army.
Retiring in 2022, he spent his time with grandchildren, dogs and cats, living the best life he knew.
While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering, being now reunited with his family, friends, and our Lord in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Christel Shelton; two sons, Cody Valley-Shelton, Samuel Shelton; daughter, Sonya Valley-Shelton; sister, Connie Shelton and father-in-law, Stanley Valley.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lisa Shelton; five sons, Hans "Aki" Shelton Jr., Jack & Jamie Shelton, Devon Shelton, Aiden Shelton, Reed Shelton; three grandchildren, Cooper Shelton, Braxton Shelton, Harper Shelton; four siblings, George Shelton Jr., Janie Wright, Barbara Shelton, Timothy Shelton; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Graveside Funeral service with military honors will be 1pm Monday, November 4th, 2024 at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery in North Little Rock. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
