Howard L. Carter, "Dude", 62 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022.. He was born June 14, 1960 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Marvin F. and Adella Collins Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Alex Carter.
Howard graduated Barstow High School. After graduating, Howard proudly served in the US Navy. He was a mechanic for several years. He was known as "Dude" by his close friends. Dude was kind and stubborn, but always had time to solve a problem, no matter how small. Resiliency was his special skill. Through the years, he had several close calls with his health issues, but he overcame. He was a supporting, loving father to his children. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
"A father like you is rare, one that's so generous, smart and kind. A father like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always doing great deeds. Nothing can replace a father like you, but when you get to heaven, God will be lucky to have you too."
He is survived by four children, Emily Grace Carter of Russellville, Sarah Carter of Russellville, Angela Carter-Densmore of California, Jason Carter of California; grandson, Cole Carter of Russellville, as well as several other grandchildren, family and friends.
His visitation will be 11-12, Monday, August 29, 2022 at Russellville Family Funeral, with his funeral service beginning at 12 noon, following the visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
