James "Sonny" Sumers

James "Sonny" Sumers, 65 of Pottsvillle, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He was born January 19, 1959 in Ben Hur, Arkansas to Joe and Christine Sumers. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Michelle Sumers; sister, Tressie Ault and brother, Tommy Sumers. 

He is survived by his Fiancee, Tammy Brown; son, Dylan & Lauren Sumers; five grandchildren, Wyatt Jackson, Bailey Hughes, Kayden Sumers, Jaxson Sumers, Rylan Sumers; sister Lee & Doug Bradley; nieces, Angie & Steve Edwards, Connie & Daniel Freeman, Ronda & Steven Khamsourivong, Christy & Shayne Wallis and other family and friends. 

Sonny loved hot rods. He was known for his signature 1963 corvette. His love of cars led him to own Sonny's Speed and Truck Accessories. 

His visitation will be 5-7pm Friday, October 25th, 2024 at Russellville Family Funeral Chapel. The Funeral service will be 10am Saturday, October 26th at Solo Cemetery north of Hector with Blake Herren officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral. 

Pallbearers will be Kayden Sumers, Wyatt Jackson, Shane Holland, Jason Howard, David Rhinehart, Robert "Jumper" Tippit. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Paul Apple, Kenneth Chesney, Ronnie Dodson, Gary Ballard.
