Jimmy "J.B" Barton

Jimmy "J.B. " Barton, 69 of Russellville, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 22, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was born January 12, 1954 in Russellville, Arkansas to Bill and Nancy Rains Barton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

J.B. was known as Pops to many.  He was a truck mechanic for several years, then a Project Manager in the Nuclear Industry, working in several states.  J.B. enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, deer hunting, stock car racing, but mostly spending time with his family.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Barton; children, Mitchell Barton and wife Shauna of Lamar, Amanda Williams and husband, Jeff of Russellville, Rose Counts and husband Andy of Hot Springs; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald Purser and wife Sandy of Ola, step-father, William Cochran of Perryville, step-mother, Jo Barton of Russellville, as well as several other family and friends. 

His Life Celebration will be Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Russellville Family Funeral.  We will begin his service at 6pm, with a come and go visitation from 6:30-8:00 pm. 

The family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to Gentiva Hospice Staff for their excellent care of J.B.   In honor of J.B., the family would appreciate memorials made to Gentiva Hospice.
