John Thomas Campbell

November 19, 1950 — April 2, 2021

John Thomas Campbell, 70 of Dover, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born November 19, 1950 in Mena, to Chester C. Campbell and Elsie Mae Irons. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Thomas Campbell, II; great grandson, Hunter Jay Davis and sister, Jane Moore; brothers-in-law, Frank Hartman, Charlie Howell and sister-in-law, Linda Jennings. 

John proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the Simpson-Turner Post #27 Disabled American Veterans and The Roger Rye Post 2283 Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He was a member of the Cooties through the VFW, as well as a member of VFW Riders Group.   John loved making items with wood and was in house construction for several years.  He was handy with small engine mechanics as well.  Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and "Da" to his grandchildren.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years,  Barbara Campbell; daughter, Shannon Strickland of Cotter, son-in-law Finus Strickland of Morrilton; son, Derek Campbell & wife Nikki of Lincoln; grandchildren, Wade Strickland, DeAnna Strickland, John Campbell, Brayden Campbell, Josiah Campbell; sisters, Frances Whitbey & husband Larry of Dover, Lane Alexander of Dover, Fannie DeAlba of Dover, Flo Sherman of Chickalah, Christy Campbell & significant other, Michael Peterson, of California; brothers-in-law, Bobby Hartman & wife Jeanne of Maryland, Jerry Hartman & wife Sandy of Maryland, sisters-in-law, Gloria Howell of Pennsylvania, Pam Walstrum and husband Kenny of Maryland, Dena Crosby & husband Rick, Maryland, Peggy Hartman of Maryland, Earlene Stevens of Maryland, as well as several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. 

There are no services planned.   Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
