Judy Cevene Rogers

February 23, 1944 — April 3, 2025

Russellville

It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Judy Cevene Rogers. Judy was born on February 23,1944 and passed away on April 3rd, 2025, in Russellville, AR after declining health from a stroke.

Judy was born in Merkel, TX to A.L Rogers Jr and Elizabeth Cathcart- Rogers and was mother to Roger Farley of Piedmont, OK and Allen Farley of Russellville, AR.

As a homemaker/in-home caregiver/museum curator/construction laborer, Judy was known for her hard work and stubborn toughness. Her hobbies included learning and teaching others about old west history and during her younger years, she loved caring for just about every kind of farm animal in the world. She was most proud of seeing her sons achieve success with their families and their careers. Judy often bragged about her father, brother and both sons all being veterans and was very active with the VFW auxiliary in Merkel, TX and accomplished many projects for recognition of veterans. Another project Judy poured her heart into was the Merkel Area Historical Museum in Merkel, Texas. Judy was a 'curator in training' and helped promote the museum every chance she got. Judy loved showing the museum to tourists and especially local school kids and had a special interest in Native American history.

She is survived by her two sons; Roger Farley (Cynthia) of Piedmont, OK, Allen Farley (Tracy) of Russellville, AR; brother Connie Rogers (Shirley), Grandkids: Nathan (Brianna), Jacob (Lena) and Aspen Farley; her great grandkids, Evelyn, Alice, Jack, Emma, Annie and Macie Farley. Along with nephews; Ronnie, Mike and Larry Rogers and a whole host of cousins and friends. One of Judy's lifelong friends, Jesse Moreno, along with his wife Gudrun deserve a special thank you for all the assistance and love throughout her life.

We would also like to say a special thank you to the staff at the Russellville Nursing and Rehab for the great care and love that was shown Judy during her last year. Another special person to Judy is Elizabeth Vargas, who was her caregiver for many years and went above and beyond just taking care of Judy but treated her like family. We appreciate you all very much.

Judy attended Dover First Baptist church and knew Jesus Christ as her savior. During her final days, Judy was prepared and ready to meet her savior face to face.

As per Judy's wishes, her body will be cremated, and a celebration of life service will be held in her hometown of Merkel TX at a later date.

Continuing with Judy's love for veterans, donations can be made to the Marine Corps League #1310 or a Veterans group of your choice instead of flowers.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Russellville Family Funeral.
