Melissa Kay Lowder Whitbey

Melissa Kay Lowder Whitbey, 53 of Russellville, Arkansas, went to her heavenly home, Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was born December 13, 1971 in Russellville, Arkansas to J.C. Lowder and Floy Dean Wright Lowder. She was preceded in death by her father, and brother, Dean Lowder.

Melissa was such a sweet soul, to know her was to love her. She was a true Christian, friend to many, but the most loving, caring, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She was one of the most selfless ladies ever. Melissa worked at the Russellville Revenue Office for almost 18 years. She never met a stranger and her smile was contagious. 

She is survived by her loving daughter, Laken Whitbey of Russellville and Selvin Walker; mother, Floy and Jerry Underwood of Russellville; two brothers, Darrell and Trish Lowder of Russellville, Todd and Joelle Lowder of Russellville; step-siblings, Chris and Candice Underwood of Russellville, Tosha Underwood of Russellville; nieces and nephews, Jonathan Lowder, Thomas and Amber Lowder, Tyler and Alex Loughridge, Anna Lowder, Olivia Lowder, Mariah Jeffcoat, Dillon Jeffcoat, Rylee Underwood, great nieces and nephews, Lainey, Julian, Macey, Malachi, Lakyn, her grand-dog, Knox, as well as several aunts, uncles and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bronson Clayton, Ray Reynolds, Tommy "Bone" Davis, Jonathan Lowder, Thomas Lowder, Tyler Loughridge.   Honorary pallbearers will be her work family at the Russellville Revenue Office.

Her visitation will be 2-4pm, Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Russellville Family Funeral. Her funeral service will be 10am, Monday, February 17, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Pottsville, with Bro. Paul Farnam officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
