Raymond Nevelle Jackson, 79 of Russellville, Arkansas, went to his heavenly home Saturday, May 7, 2022. He was born May 11, 1942 in Russellville, Arkansas to James and Aretha Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Jackson; daughter, Ramona Nichols; 3 brothers Elvin King, Jackson, JC Jackson, Willard Cecil Jackson; 3 sisters Shirley Givan, Pricilla Williams, Mary Etta Daniel; grand daughter, Breona Davis.
He is survived by his daughters, Maria Jackson, Tracie Jackson (Bill); Dani Mleeka Jackson (Clifford); son, Kevin Jackson; special son, David Stewart; sister, Mamie Jo Franklin & Frank; several grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Raymond was a Deacon at Pilgrim Rest #1 Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Middle Western District. He loved his church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Raymond would landscape for the church and surrounding communites. He loved to help out when he could. He graduated from New Tyler Barber College and opened his own barber shop. He was remembered for his haircuts and shoe shines. Raymond will be missed by his family and remembered for his encouraging and inspirational words.
Funeral service will be 2pm Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at Pilgrim Rest #1 Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Lee Dorsey. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 1pm. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Burton, Ascesion Mitchell, David Stewart.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Marsh “Dune”, Deacon Willie Braxton, Deacon Weldon Braxton, Deacon Timothy Dorsey.
