Bob Rye, 82, of Fort Smith, passed away on December 15, 2022.

Bob was born on December 8, 1940.

After Bob graduated from Russellville High School in 1958, he

went on to study accounting at Arkansas Tech University.

After graduating with a degree in accounting, Bob eventually was

hired at Whirlpool as an accountant. He worked at Whirlpool for 27 years, then

retired in 1997. While working at Whirlpool Bob started a multifamily real estate

business that he and his wife Charlotte managed by themselves. Bob also invested and helped

start a long term care company that owns and operates nursing homes in Arkansas and Texas.

Bob met Charlotte in 1961 at the Ritz movie theater in Russellville. They got married in 1962 and

went on to have four children. Bob is preceded in death by his father John Grady Rye and his

mother Mary Evelyn Rye. Bob is survived by his wife Charlotte and four children

Sherrie (Benjamin) Linn, Debbie (James) Stein, Andy (Ruth) Rye, Sara (Clay) McGill, and also his

17 grandchildren Emily Linn, Elijah Linn, Jansen Stein, Elizabeth Stein, Susannah Stein, Braden

Stein, Rebecca Stein, Ashton Stein, Addalyn Stein, Andrew Rye, William Rye, Matthew Rye,

Thomas Rye, Max Mcgill, Ava Mcgill, Shepherd Mcgill, and Evelyn Mcgill.

Graveside funeral service and burial will be 4pm, Friday, December 16, 2022 at Booher Cemetery in Russellville, under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
