Walter "Chalk" Hubbard

Walter “Chalk” Hubbard of Russellville passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He was born February 16, 1945, in Maryville, IL, to John Hubbard and Camelia Medley Hubbard. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Adeline Hubbard; brothers, Danny, Jimmie & Frank Hubbard; sister-in-law, Beckey Hubbard; brother-in-law, Johnny Lancaster. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Hubbard; sons, Stan & Sara Hubbard, Steve & Kim Hubbard; step-sons, Nick & Pattie Holly, James & Tammy Holly, Garren Holly; sister, Rosalie Lancaster; brother, John & Kathy Hubbard; sister-in-law, Susie & Jeremiah Axtell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and a Pope County Sheriff’s Deputy Reserves member. He was employed at Dow Chemical. He was also an Owner/Operator for many years. Walter was a perpetual member of Shiloh #552 and Atkins #172 Free & Accepted Masons. Funeral service will be 2pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Russellville Family Funeral Chapel. The viewing and visitation will be from 12noon until 2pm, prior to the service. Walter will be honored with Masonic Rites. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post 2283 of Russellville. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
